I turn 29 tomorrow! And I plan to spend the entire day doing things I love with people I love, so I thought I’d start the party a little early with a hyper-specific list. I think it’ll be fun to look back at this list over time and see what I still stand by. Please leave your additions in the comments.

  1. Monogrammed stationery in neon colors. Happy Menocal-core, if you will. I want the least traditional color combinations possible, please.

Letterpress stationery set with neon yellow ink and blue envelopes with neon yellow envelope liners
    Something like this
  2. Intro emails without hyperlinks. In fact, any email without hyperlinks. Don’t you think it just looks cleaner?

  3. Listening to Billie Holiday on the first crisp day of fall in New York. Few things make me feel more like a movie’s main character.

  4. The Baroness from The Sound of Music. She was never really the villian, unless her crime was serving looks in the face of romantic betrayal.

Eleanor Parker dies at 91; played baroness in 'The Sound of Music' - Los Angeles Times
How would YOU solve a problem like Maria? Probably not with this much grace.
  5. After-lunch cappuccinos on a Friday. Meeting for business lunches on a Friday is a habit I’d like to cultivate more in my life. The sure-tell sign things went well? One of you suggests ordering a coffee before heading back to your respective inboxes.
