I talk about thrifting and my best friend all the time. Maybe it’s because it’s our favorite thing to do together. Or perhaps it has to do with her expertise (remember the $200 Chanel?), which I’ve been benefiting from for almost a decade. I like talking about it on this newsletter because as much as I love finding shiny new links for you all to shop, I really want to talk about shopping secondhand.

The process

It’s an art, not a science. It’s an exercise in taste and patience and risk + reward. More complicated than an “add to cart,” thrifting is a willingness to go in blind and hope for the best. So here’s what we hauled last time we were together at the beach. It’s worth noting it was

Ruby's Recs
bday, which maybe made us a little more celebratory aka loosey goosey on some of these purchases.

All’s fair in love and thrifting on vacation.

Vintage LBD With Silver Belt $5

Ruby liked this style of dress, a little Row-esque, she explained. She thinks it’s easier to find simple dresses like this thrifting than new. I agree.

Try search terms “vintage black dress with belt” or “vintage 90s black dress”
