✨💰NEW SERIES ALERT💰✨
I love talking about money.
My dad worked in finance and growing up, conversations about money were as normal as talking about the weather or when the next basketball tournament was. I had an allowance from a young age, campaigned for big purchases through chore charts, and could never look at fashion separate from the the money that took to acquire it.
And while my shopping habits have certainly been curbed by a very NY-sized closet, I’ve been sourcing secondhand pieces sort of nonstop since I was sixteen. I used to shop tag sales at Goodwill but now I place eBay orders on Saturday morning in bed with a coffee.
The thing is: buying secondhand clothes without scrutiny is my rich life. Anything under $100 is pretty much fair game. Secondhand purchases in the $500+ zone require a little more consideration, but those happen rarely. And as for new purchases, the most I spent on something new was around $700 on a custom suit for this story.
Without further ado, here’s what I spent on secondhand clothing last month + how I’d rate the purchase. Wondering how I have such dialed-in metrics? We’re a Copilot family. (Download here and get two free months with code 7DUAX4) Do you care that prices are after shipping? They’re after shipping.
