Saving this for my trip to Ischia! My boyfriend has been trying to copy Jude Law's wardrobe for years but I've somehow never thought to try my own Ripley inspired outfit.
I haven't even seen any of the movies, but, thanks to your inspiration, I bought two really nice loose linen shirts (pale blue, green) online secondhand today!
I have always loved Talented Mr. Ripley and had always wanted to go to Ischia and check it out. Finally went last September and it is fabulous! Marge Sherwood fashion rules always, right?
The 1960's adaptation of the Talented Mr Ripley, "Purple Noon," has been the center of my style goals since I saw a re-release in theaters when I was in HS. Erika, if you haven't seen it, you must. It's gorgeous and moody. Marge's striped boat-neck swimsuit, the low white heels, the gingham button up, the black one piece with oversized shirt... Every outfit radiates laid back elegance. Also Alain Delon's outfits: https://bamfstyle.com/2018/07/25/purple-noon-13-swimwear/
I just watched Plein Soleil (Purple Noon in English) for the first time this weekend! So good. I did not know that Talented Mr. Ripley was not the first version.

Love this film as a reference for dressing it's right up there with Call Me By Your Name or Bonjour Tristesse
I think about Marge A LOT, esp in the summer. A true icon!!!!
I really need to see this movie and/or read the book. Thanks for the recommendations!
This feels like the summer version of the “Meg Ryan in You’ve Got Mail” look book! Which is to say: I’m here for it.
I trust you've seen the Alain Deloin 60s version right?
So chic. I’ll take one of everything! 🫶🏻
