These are amazing but also WHAT IS THE SANDAL?? I'm over Birks but still need something comfortable enough to tromp around in. Not into the Olsen Keens or Tevas. Want something more elevated and elegant but still with personality and will stand up to chasing kids in a playground. Does such a thing exist? Maybe not? Maybe not.

I was in same predicament last summer- ordered these and they are insanely comfy. Tons of arch support. Looks like A. Emery, but I only realized that after the fact. https://www.liberteleather.com/collections/bronte-sandal/products/bronte-sandal-black

Pikolinos are the most comfortable sandal I’ve worn in a long time. I walked all over Spain last week in them (20k steps a day) and can run around after my young kids in them. IMO, look better than a teva.

Charlotte Stone, comfy with a lot of personality if that’s what you want or more muted (but still colorful) if you want a bit less. I just got the “Chad” in Kite and they are so fun. Beeks are good, Tkees are more minimal so not great for walking a million miles but a comfy dressy-ish option, ABEO Oasis sandal looks nicer than Tevas but is so so comfy.

I’ve personally been loving the huarache sandal life for the past 5 years. I wanted something that could feel classic and a bit nice but also I don’t have to feel precious about, and that I could just as easily throw on to tend to the garden or walk along the rocky/dirty paths to my local beach as I could wear them with a little summer dress (this is very much the vibe). I have the ones from Nisolo in “almond” and love em.

I tried the Birks Madrid style in black EVA last summer bc I was sick of the Arizonas. It’s like a very lightweight Dr Scholl. I don’t own but the Emme Parsons Bari in rubber for the playground with a sprinkler could be it!

I am the person grinning at the Keens. I have been trying to figure out what style and colorway to buy for a while now. I think they will look great with a long A-line skirt and a lil tank top - soon I will bite the bullet! :)

Big thumbs up for the Sabah loafers. I would add the Nisolo huaraches, great summer shoes (but do they count as sandals??) also I want to throw out there that the plasticana clogs will make your feet sweat like no other.

this is a fantastic roundup. for the jelly-wearers: i see them on my screen and in my feeds and i instantly feel a blister coming on. is that the case or am i just scarred from childhood?

I have two pairs of the Matisse jellies (sold at Nordstrom https://www.nordstrom.com/s/marlow-jelly-ballet-flat-women, wait 'til they're on sale again, got mine for $18 apiece) — I can walk in them for hours with no blisters, magically! My fiance does like to scream WHY YOU GOT THOSE TOES IN A CAGE so that is a trade-off but worth it imo

I primarily wear closed toe shoes due to missing toenails, and these are such fun options.

(For anyone curious, I dropped a piece of furniture on my feet in college, and my liver didn’t tolerate Lamisil. They didn’t get better and were falling off, so I elected to have the nail matrix destroyed on those 3 toes.)

My issue with sandals is exposing my toes. It just feels too vulnerable to me so the two types of summer shoes I’ve been mulling over have been fisherman sandals that provide more coverage for the toes or huaraches but chances are I won’t make a decision until summer is over.

I just found Ilse Jacobson slip-ons and got both the navy and the olive green to wear all summer long! Also a huge Sabah fan.

I’m a Keen girl feeling seen 😉 Outfit idea from a person who would wear these: a) full shite skirt, boxy cropped adidas football jersey type shirt, bitchy lil baguette bag b) long white linen pants so they break on the shoe, white ribbed tank, baseball cap, LL bean boat tote size small

I love my Sperry Slim Boat Shoes - which I ordered on your recommendation! They go with everything and warm my little 1980’s preppy kid’s heart 💜 I also love my suede loafers (Quince) and metallic Mary Jane’s (Sam Edelman) All are comfy and I can wear the last two to work as well as more casually.

Wild that espadrilles and boat shoes are coming back, but I am here for it! Sadly I don't think I can say the same about the jelly sandals... x) I love my Plasticana clogs! So versatile and perfect for any kind of weather. (Although very important to note that they will get a bit smelly! Still love 'em though :') Such a great roundup, thanks for sharing!
