Great letter, loved the colors. I will be referencing. Wanted to volunteer Colorful Standard for socks very similar to Uniqlo, but organic and ethically made (yay) for the same price and maybe even more colors!!
The possibility of finding a beautiful homemade quilt is why I never skip the linen section at thrift stores, garage sales, rummage sales, and estate sales.
One time I was donating some stuff to goodwill and before I could even think I saw and snatched a quilt that was in the donate bin. 😬 Turns out it is amazing and hand pieced and hand quilted and hand embroidered and and and
Have been challenging myself to wear a little more color and think about the combinations that never cease to catch my eye.
Anyone else have those combos that are maybe a little garish but always feel good? Will perennially turn my head for eggplant + lime, pine green + robin’s egg blue, chocolate + azure…
This is so good!! Both my mom and my grandmas are/were quilters, and I'm always trying to explain what draws me to some of their color combos over others. I'm sending this to my mom--it's lovely!!
Ohh—I love it. And Bode will make a jacket for you out of an old quilt as will my friend Ella who owns a brand called The Series NY. I think it's a wonderful way to give something a second life
The way I sprinted to buy that blue Bill Blass set
You beat me to it and honestly, I celebrate that!!!
I will let you know if it doesn’t work for me!
ok def my favorite from this letter YAY!!
Terracota, burnt orange and brown is such an elite color-combination!! Love this!
soooooo elite I wish I was brave enough
Bought the impractical blouse! I was like I can play with this so much over stuff - I must have it! Great newsletter!
yay! I love that blouse so much

Your conscience should be clear on this one because it sounds like an amazing find.

Yes! I feel this. It's never the first combo that comes to mind, but when I see it on the street, I'm totally captivated
Absolutely loved this, the colours, the textures, the joy!
I’m so glad!!
Learning how to quilt a few years ago has made me so much more bold in my clothing color choices and pairings!
I love this! I can’t wait to learn some day

Haha, I live in Iowa. I haven't been there ;) Very cute and fun way to approach the topic!
A must visit! thank you x
I’m saving this article for the long term. I think this is the key to keep my outfits feeling fresh even when I’m buying new things minimally.
honored <3
Ok Land’s End, coming through!! I was also obsessed with the pale blue sheer top, but I simply cannot buy anymore feminine light colored blouses. 🙈
Wondering you thoughts on people who repurpose old quilts for jackets etc?
Lands' End hive!!!
